Can see why there are a few negative reviews for this place - facilities aren't great, beds are uncomfortable, very noisy etc. However, the place has real characte. Its location is right in the centre of everything you need in Budapest, close to clubs, bars, restaurants and shops. The staff are very friendly and the place has a great atmosphere. The bar downstairs is very lively with cheap drinks, football on the tvs and cheap drinks. Overall, would recommend - but know what you're getting into!
This is not a hostel but a kinda help for the homeless, a shelter. It's really great. But I'm afraid the "locals" will think that you are a pain and you have to watch their reality show. {Including everything.}

The place is located above a very loud bar, which I already knew. What I did not know it is that many shared rooms are walk-through and have windows to a very noisy street. TBH it is not so clean. People that are accommodated with you will likely not respect that you are there at all. Take a padlock with you. This is a great place if you are going out to party and get very drunk (it is centric, close to Szimpla and Instant-Fogas) because in normal circumstances you wont be able to fall sleep.
Unity hostel is the favorite hostel i stayed at while traveling Europe. They have the most welcoming and helpful vibe I have experienced yet. They will go above and beyond for you. The staff are always willing to help out when it comes to fun events, and you can't beat the fact that one of the best Ruin bars in Budapest is right below you. Somehow the live music is silent when in your room but once you exit the party is a staircase away. Most of the best people I met in Europe was at Unity
Good place to stay if you want to party. Well, I am not sure if every hostel in Budapest is not a party hostel (unfortunately). It was quite loud with bar events every single evening. Rooms are not well sound isolated. Smoke from the bar goes directly up so as you pass by or someone gets in the floor a dosis of cigarette smoke is welcomed inside, which is totally unhealthy and disgusting. People were quite loud also in the common areas until whatever hour if you don't complain to the reception.
